I’m so upset I have to say goodbye to my coleus when winter hits… anyone else feel the same?

Your garden is gorgeous!

Thank you! I got lucky with these varieties… one of them, the pineapple brandy, grew like crazy!

Beautiful color coordination with your garden and home.

Thank you! I got obsessed with coleus this year. All my big pots are just cuttings from 8 original plants, and the colors ended up looking great together!

Mixing different varieties turned out amazing! I’ve been propagating one type for years… sometimes it even self-seeds in nearby pots or the grass.

Thanks! Mine don’t self-seed since I usually pinch the flowers, but I’m happy with how the mix came out. It was totally unplanned!

Beautiful! I feel sad every year when I have to say goodbye to my plants. I’m in zone 5b, so I don’t have much advice, but good luck saving them!

I’ll try keeping some trimmings indoors… fingers crossed!

Lovely!

Totally understand, wish I’d seen these suggestions sooner! Maybe I’ll try overwintering some next year.

Definitely give it a go!

Just went out and took cuttings of my Big Leaf coleus. Can’t let them go!

Glad this post inspired you to save them too!

They’re gorgeous! I’d hate to say goodbye too

Those are amazing! How much sun do they get? Mine have done well indoors with just morning sun, but I’ve heard they can get even brighter if they get more light.

Thanks! Mine get 12+ hours of full sun in the summer, temps in the upper 90s and low 100s… crazy that they love it! I’d like to try some other varieties, maybe the wedding train variety!

Just take clippings, put them in water, and they’ll root within a week. No need for hormone rooting powder!
