Got creative with my peppers… couldn't let the freeze ruin them

Bet that would taste amazing on pizza!

Pizza, eggs, Mexican food… it’s my go-to spice for everything now.

How long does a batch like that last? And how long do you think it’ll take you to use it all?

If you slice fruity peppers, dehydrate them, and store them in a low-oxygen container, they make a great base for frying. I use mine in fried rice with garlic, peanuts, and sesame seeds cooked in lard—so good!

I’m definitely trying this! I’ve got tons of peppers this year and didn’t know what to do with them. Your idea sounds perfect, thanks!

Glad you like it! Just edited my comment for better clarity if you want to save it again.

Ever tried making spicy ice cream with them? Ginger mango habanero ice cream is a game-changer!

I grilled some Carolina Reapers outside once, and my neighbors called the cops. The cop showed up coughing, saying they got complaints from five houses down. We all had burning eyes :joy:

I can’t stand my neighbors… might have to try this!

How do you dry them without burning or cooking them? Or do you smoke them first and then dehydrate?

I smoke them first!

Looks delicious, but why such tiny containers? You must’ve needed a ton for all that spice!

I probably filled about 8-10 small jars. I give them as gifts!

Ah, that makes more sense! I was thinking you kept all that spice for yourself haha.

Pro-tip: Wear a mask when handling peppers like these. Learned that the hard way!

Great song in the background, by the way.

Somebody get this person a funnel, stat!

Missed opportunity not playing Red Hot Chili Peppers though

What was the white powder you added after the salt?

Edit: Never mind, got it. Garlic and onion powder. How long does this stay fresh?

I don’t really know… it’s never lasted long enough to find out!

Pro tip: Always wear gloves when dealing with hot peppers. Trust me.

I had some leftover cow horn, lemon drop, jalapeño, green chile, golden jalapeño, poblano ancho, bishop’s crown, and my favorite—cherry hot.

You can freeze peppers if you plan to cook them later. Pepper jelly is also amazing with cream cheese and crackers. Try it!
