I had a bunch of peppers and knew the freeze was coming. So I decided to make pepper flakes. No way I was gonna let all that go to waste!

The seeds aren’t the only source of heat. The white membrane in the pepper also packs a punch.

Can I just say… I love the word “pith.” That’s where the spice is, the pith, or the placental tissue, but I don’t know enough about plants to explain further.
This looks amazing! I do something similar with yellow caribe peppers for steak seasoning. What do you use yours for?

I tried using an air fryer for drying peppers once… ended up pepper spraying the whole house! Had to move the fryer outside to finish the job, and let’s just say, the neighbors weren’t happy
