Anyone else growing Yuzu lemons at home? They smell amazing and are so popular in Japanese dishes…

I’ve got a Yuzu lemon tree in the backyard garden! They’re known for their fragrance and are used in many Japanese recipes. Anyone else growing these at home? I love the scent and the taste. Would love to hear how others use them!

Yuzu is such a must-have for cooking, I’m so jealous you have one in your backyard! It’s like the perfect touch to so many dishes.

Thanks a lot! It’s definitely a treat to have it at home. Hope you get one soon!

It’s amazing how cold-tolerant they are for a citrus tree, and they taste so good too. I’m really close to where one could survive in the ground with some protection.

I love drinks made with Yuzu. They’re so refreshing!

They look beautiful but the tree can be super thorny!

It’s such a great fruit! Still waiting for mine to grow big enough to bear fruit. After using them in cooking and for that famous Yuzu lemonade, did you know you can also use the skin for a refreshing bath?

@Rex
Thanks for the tip! I’ll definitely look into using the skin. Hope you have a great day!

Nice! I’ve got one too, but it grows really slowly and doesn’t produce a lot of fruit.

Ours grows slowly too, but it gives us plenty of fruit. Not as slow as our Satsuma mandarin though!

@Bailey
Yeah, I’m not sure if mine is on dwarf rootstock or not, but I’m not too worried about it getting too big.

I can’t wait for mine to grow! I got a small tree this year, it’s about two feet tall. I also got a Buddha’s Hand and a Fingerlime. I just love citrus! You must be so happy to have so many fruits this year.

@Harlan
That’s awesome! Buddha’s Hand sounds so interesting. It’s always so exciting when the trees have so many fruits. Hope your trees thrive!

I had one at my old house in Oakland, and I absolutely loved it!

They’re so beautiful!

We use Yuzu at the fancy restaurant I work at. They make amazing Yuzu pickles.

I have access to Yuzu lemons. What’s the best way to use them?
