Too many leaves for the “leave the leaves” idea? What would you do?

Clear off the roof but leave the rest for the chickens!

I’ve mulched bag after bag, and it still looks like I’ve barely made a dent.

Anyone know if this is a fire hazard? Maybe depends on your zone.

We have three big maples, and we mulch the leaves all season. By spring, they’re all broken down.

Wait for half to drop, mow that, and pile the rest in a corner for spring use.

I can hear this scene just looking at it!

Mow them up, helps soil microbes over the winter.

Give it a shot!

Think of it this way: would you rather help nature or keep the lawn? Leaves help a ton of life under there, but they will affect your grass.

Leave the leaves. We stopped raking, and fireflies are back in our yard.

Blow the leaves downhill, shop vac to suck them up, shred with a weedwhacker, then sprinkle for compost.

Leaving the leaves helps insects that overwinter. Mowing kills both grass and insects, so rake as much as possible into a pile.

Mow over them weekly. The grass will thank you come spring.

Rodents like leaves too. Leaving leaves sounds good in theory, but might attract unwanted critters.

Rodents will be around regardless. Better outside than in!

You could leave the leaves in beds or in a wild patch, which would help the ecosystem.

That’s why I keep leaves away from my house foundation.

Just mow them up, easy fix.

Try a pass with a mulching mower, then bag or sweep any extra and spread it under berry bushes or in compost piles.

Yep, that’s a lot of leaves. You might want a mulching blade for the mower.
