Depending on your location, a heating pad under the seeds could help. Keep that light close and run it for at least 16 hours a day when you see sprouts. A fan will help strengthen the roots too. Natural light in a window can also help.
Maybe try something that tolerates shade better, like snakeroot or ginseng?
A lot of people don’t realize just how strong sunlight is compared to indoor lights. There are probably better indoor plants that can give you that bright feeling.
Also, have you considered vitamin D, magnesium glycinate, or vitamin K2? Lack of sunlight can mess with more than just plants!
Some tips:
- Watch out for overpriced “gardening lights.” Any strong white LED works fine.
- Keep in mind, roots grow as big as the plant, so plan for enough space.
- Don’t stress too much – plants can be finicky but they’re fun.
Sunflowers might struggle indoors. Try pothos ivy or maybe a cyclamen if you want flowers. They’re easier to care for and love indoor temps.
I think it’d be better to choose something that thrives indoors – watching a plant struggle might not be the most uplifting.
