My mom's pretty path to her front door

I would never even reach the house if I took this path. I would just sit back and enjoy the garden until it was time to leave.

This is nice.

We all really love it. She puts in so much effort!

What is the ground cover around the stones? It looks amazing!

@Palmer
It looks a lot like my lemon ball stonecrop, so it might be that. They are great ground cover, and if this is that type, it’s quite sturdy. I recommend it!

My mom says:

The plants in this photo are Sedum. There are many kinds, and this one is low growing. But I also have some that grow as tall as two feet! Further up the path, there are some other types of ground cover—the most beautiful is the Scotch Moss.

Looks like a type of sedum to me

Seems like a nice mix of sedums. Some places sell mats of mixed varieties that you can shape. I love sedum, but it can easily get overrun with weeds in the ground like this. You have to keep weeding it daily.

@Jay
The tall thin yellow-flowered clover loves to hide in there.

Such a beautiful path must make coming home even better. I love it.

Who needs a front door with a garden this beautiful? Just move in with the plants and call it a day.

Haha

The design is really creative and beautiful! Like a fairyland.

So nice! And very beautiful!

Oh, I see it now—it’s stepping stones. I thought it was a winding path! I was imagining package deliveries.

This path is the scenic route (the more practical route is on the other side of the house and is not nearly as pretty lol).

@Azar
I love that there’s a route for practicality and one to enjoy the scenery. So lovely.

@Azar
I was about to ask if this is the main path! I have a love/hate relationship with how modern American houses often have fancy front steps and doors that are rarely used. I’m trying to find a way to combine both when most of the time we enter through the garage.

@Valen
There are definitely ways to make a path that is both beautiful and practical. This house is on the corner, so it has two access points, but for places with only one entry (aside from the garage haha) a simple concrete or brick path with plants on the sides is always a good choice!

So beautiful, wow

This is an inspiring photo. I hope our path looks like this after a few years as we figure out what can grow on our hill.
