If someone damages your property, they owe you compensation, especially if it’s a company.

I’d be livid. I just had my roof redone and the crew left no trace except for the new shingles. What a difference from your experience. Sorry, OP. They deserve to be called out.
You didn’t think to move your plants before getting the roof replaced? Seems like common sense.

Coming from a roofer, it sucks about your plants, but they probably handled hundreds of shingles up there. It’s hard to keep everything perfect.
Edit: I assumed they cleaned up the trash before leaving. If not, that’s another issue.
