My chickens would wreck that design in a day! How are you going to keep them out of your garden? But it looks great.
I was just about to say the same thing! ChatGPT must have never had a chicken get loose in the garden!
I have another side of the yard where we’ll be setting up a chicken space. I only have six chickens, so they’re not too bad.
Is your plan really to scale? It looks like it’s about four times bigger than your actual yard based on the photos.
Once we remove the walkway, it’ll be closer to scale. We’ll make a few adjustments to fit the space better. And the trampoline in the design is way out of scale with the yard!
Tilling and pulling is a good start. Then, put cardboard over the soil to block out sunlight and kill the weeds. Trim back anything that’s too big and use the leaves and biodegradable trash for compost. I’d break it down into smaller steps so it’s less overwhelming. You’ve got this—starting from scratch can be exciting, and you’ll make something beautiful!
You should have two swings per bay, not three. Also, the fall space in front and behind the swings should be double the swing height. But overall, it looks good!
Cut the weeds at ground level and then use a cultivator to dig up the roots. After that, cover the area to stop any new weeds from growing. You can plant grass and mow it as it grows to stop any weeds, or I’ve started using flat rocks to cover stubborn weeds that keep growing back. With time, you’ll stop seeing them, but it can take a while.
