Do you have a press? I’ve always wanted to make cider, but the idea of buying a press feels overwhelming. Trying to do it any other way just seems like it would end up being apple juice, lol.
I have a press, and you’ll definitely want to get a small fruit grinder too. It’s a lot of work, but it’s totally worth it when I can relax by a warm fire in the middle of winter with a glass in hand.
If there’s a brew shop nearby, they might have equipment you can rent. I found that renting for a full day was around $50. You could also check with local orchards or other places—they might offer rentals too.
I highly recommend getting a friend to help out. I’ve done it solo and with a buddy, and it’s soooo much easier with an extra pair of hands! Haha.
It’s beautiful and so appropriate for autumn! Liquid gold.
Yum! I used to make mulled cider for the holidays. Just warm it up with cinnamon sticks and orange slices, and add a splash of alcohol if you like. Great job—these look beautiful! I know it’s a lot of work, but future you will be grateful with every glass. Enjoy!
