I definitely had some tiny ones too! This was the biggest one I managed to grow.
I love beets!
Love the picture with your hands holding the beets!
Thank you!
That’s a frame-worthy photo!
Haha, this made me laugh!
Growing beets at home made me fall in love with them. I pickle mine with mustard seeds mixed in. Have you tried the golden varieties? They’re slightly sweeter and less earthy than the red ones.
Roasted beets with goat cheese… so good!
Beautiful beets! I love roasting them with sweet potatoes and onions. It’s the perfect combo.
Don’t be surprised if your pee turns pink after eating them!
Congrats on your first beet harvest! Those purple hands are a badge of honor! Pickled beets on salad are the best.
Did you prepare these with your grandma? It looks like a special moment!
Yes, I did! She’s been teaching me how to pickle and can. It’s been so much fun.
That’s such useful knowledge to learn.
Cherish these times with her
I definitely do. I love spending time with her
I love beets too, but pickled ones give me heartburn. Fun fact: you can freeze beets and they turn out just fine! We accidentally froze some, and they were still great after thawing.
That’s good to know! I’ll have to try freezing some next time.
Nothing beats the benefits of beets!
