Can anyone tell me what kind of bush this is and what the pruning style is called?

It could be a shaped Eugenia, but it’s hard to tell from this distance.

Cubofuturism vibes.

It’s a UFO tree.

Could be boxwood. The style reminds me of 1960s UFO aesthetics.

No idea what it is, but I want one!

This is so cool! It feels magical.

Fantastic work. :metal:

That’s what she said…

Dr. Seuss, that’s the style!

Looks like an Edward Scissorhands creation.

Cloud pruning.

Looks unnatural to me.

Style is ‘abomination,’ not sure about the species though.

Cut style: fugly.

Looks like a juniper to me, based on the tight foliage and trunk. The picture is pretty fuzzy though.

Not sure about the bush species, but the cut style is ‘Rock ‘n’ Roll Drum Kit’ topiary! (Just kidding.)

Your question looks like a statement—it doesn’t need a question mark at the end. Just a thought.

This looks like Japanese pruning, but it’s often referred to as ‘cloud pruning.’ It’s a beautiful technique.

You’re right—it’s called cloud pruning. I’m a newer landscaper and saw this technique on a ‘Gardeners’ World’ episode last year.
