Anyone had good luck with Holland Bulb Farm?

I’ve been reading mostly negative reviews about Holland Bulb Farm here… seems like a lot of people had issues like getting the wrong varieties, receiving dead roots, or problems with mold and rot. But they have affordable options, especially their clearance flowers, and I’m curious if anyone has had a positive experience with them. I placed an order, but I can still cancel it if there are better choices out there. If you’ve had good experiences or know of other affordable options, I’d love to hear about them.

I ordered 50 tulip and daffodil bulbs for my friend. Saw Holland Bulb Farm ads everywhere, so I gave them a shot. Turned out well, and the bulbs were good. Been getting ads from them non-stop since then.

@Rey
I finally decided to try them after getting texts from them all the time :joy:

I tried them once, but I didn’t have a great experience. I got an offer for 25% off my first order plus free shipping if I joined their mailing list. I joined, got the code, and when I tried to use it, it didn’t work. No free shipping either. I ended up unsubscribing and never tried them again.

I LOVE them. We’ve had a lot of success with their bulbs and plants.

That’s really encouraging to hear!

The only issue I’ve had is running out of planter space! I need to make room for more bulbs now :joy:

I haven’t tried them, but I’ve seen a lot of negative reviews online. By the way, if you want to check out more reviews on gardening companies, Dave’s Garden Watchdog is a good resource.

I’ve ordered from them and had no issues with my bulbs.

I hope I have good luck too! Just planted 84 bulbs from them today. The order was correct and the bulbs were in good shape. Fingers crossed they grow well! I’ll let you know in the spring! LOL

I ordered hosta roots in late spring. 7 of them grew, but 3 of one type didn’t. Could’ve been my mistake with planting, though. This fall, I got tulip and daffodil bulbs, and they all seemed fine when they arrived. They’re planted now, so I’ll have to wait till spring to see. I’ll probably reorder from them for bulbs, but not sure about the roots. I’m trying some Phlox roots for spring.

I ordered lily bulbs from them last year. When I opened the package, it had mold on the bulbs! I’m not even kidding, the mold spores exploded out when I opened the bag. The second replacement I got was fine, but only one of the three bulbs sprouted. If you want good bulbs, I’d recommend Breck’s Bulbs instead.

I bought bulbs and a peony root from them in 2020. The flowers are doing great! I even cut a root from the peony last week to see how it does.
