A garden that I maintain 😊

This has such a UK vibe!

Haha yes, it is!

What makes a UK garden different? Just curious.

UK gardens are often long and narrow, framed by hedges. Row houses in the UK usually have small, rectangular backyards.

Got it, thanks for explaining!

Yeah, I figured it was from the UK or Ireland because it’s so green. It takes a lot of rain to keep it that lush!

Same here! The plants, paving stones, it’s all so familiar. Feels nostalgic.

Are you a landscaper or is this your personal garden?

I’m a landscaper :+1:

That’s awesome! You do a great job, I bet the owners love it

How much time do you spend maintaining this beauty?

How much would it cost to have you build something like this for me?

Nice garden, very well laid out.

If my garden looked like that, I think it would help me stay sane. Beautiful work, OP.

Probably a silly question, but how do you get those light and dark rows in the grass? Mine never looks like that no matter how I mow.

Check out the lawncare forum! Tons of advice there.

You can get the effect just by mowing back and forth with a push mower, but the thickness of the grass makes a difference. This grass is probably way thicker than most lawns, which helps.

Some mowers have a roller that presses the grass after cutting, creating the stripes. It can happen without one too, but a roller gives better results.

Pro tip: don’t mow in the same direction every time. It can cause grooves. Switch directions each time you mow—north-south one week, east-west the next.
