Who else leaves leaves in the garden for worms and bugs over the winter?

I always leave the leaves.

Just a heads-up, leaving leaves could lead to more ants.

I don’t, but I’m going to use this as my excuse now!

Nope, I don’t leave them.

I never understood leaf raking. I figured it was for lawn health or to avoid road hazards. Mushy piles of leaves are a nightmare for my longboarding.

You can mulch them into the lawn, especially if you expect snow in winter. Works well!

I tried, but the wind blew them all away. :frowning:

Mulching leaves is the way to go if you can.

Definitely cover areas you want to plant with leaves.

Yep, I do this too.

I love how leaves look covering everything. And guess what? They never kill the lawn. Not that I’d care if they did.

Absolutely. Bugs seem to love the leaves.

On dry winter days, I like to go out and crumble the dry leaves in my garden. It’s satisfying to think about how they’re enriching the soil.

We pile leaves on the garden bed every year. Free mulch, fertilizer, and great for bugs and birds.

I leave leaves everywhere… ‘for the worms,’ of course.
