What’s this growing with my ginger? 🫚

When I squeeze it, water comes out! I’ve never seen this before.

That’s the flowering part of the plant. It’s usually a good sign that the plant is healthy, especially when it’s blooming.

You can eat it too! It’s delicious and aromatic when used in food preparation.

Blanch it and cook it (make sure to season it well)!

I absolutely love this board! I often find myself guessing what the plant could be, even though my gardening knowledge is pretty limited. I still dream of growing my own plants someday.

My first guess was “ASPARAGUS!!!” I thought it was a long shot, but who knows, right?

Turns out, I was wrong. But hey, ginger is amazing too! Now I know what it looks like when it’s growing.

I feel the same way! It’s so exciting to see what everyone is growing.

P.S. My first guess was asparagus too! Haha.

I’m glad you didn’t say it because I had the same thought! Or maybe fiddlehead :joy:. In my defense, I’ve had a bit of wine .

It does share some shape similarities with asparagus, so it wasn’t such a wild guess after all.

I automatically thought “asparagus” too!

You all guessing asparagus are way ahead of me. I thought, “Isn’t it just bamboo growing with bamboo?”

I’ve actually grown bamboo, asparagus, and ginger. Oh well!

This reminds me of a school activity where we had to pair our name with an adjective starting with the same letter (like “Great Greg”). My name starts with a K, and since “kind” was already taken, I went with “Kinky,” thinking I meant “quirky.” Thankfully, my anxiety kicked in, and I chose something else. Still, I cringe when I think about it!
