We grew pumpkins for the first time… what should we do with them?

We finally got a batch of pumpkins! Now that they’re here… what should we actually do with them? Any ideas?

Now it’s time for step 3… profit!

Haha! The best step, right? Thanks!

Cook them up! My favorite way is to roast them with butter and brown sugar. So tasty!

Ooh, or try making a pumpkin bisque!

Try roasting in wedges! Just coat with oil and bake at 400°F for 40-50 minutes, then scoop out the flesh. Makes a great puree for pies – most recipes need about 2 cups per pie. Have fun!

Save some seeds for next year! Just dry them out on a paper towel in a warm spot, and roast the extras for a snack. And of course… pumpkin pie!

Target practice? :joy: I used to paint little scenes on them and sell them for extra cash too.

Don’t forget about the seeds! Clean them up, toss with salt, and roast. You could try seasoning with garlic powder or even something fun like Chex mix spices, but I like them plain with salt. Perfect fall snack :jack_o_lantern::yum:

Once the season’s over, compost the vines. They’ll die off in winter. For the seeds, just dry them out and keep for next year.

You can mow the vines down; pumpkins are annuals so they won’t regrow on their own.

Actually, you can eat pretty much all of it. Kind of uncommon, but it’s delicious!

Carve them, eat them, or just put them on display… all great options!

Wow, so many possibilities! Pies, roasted pumpkin, soups, stews, baked seeds, pumpkin bread, spice drinks, jam… you could keep going forever with pumpkin!

Pie, definitely!

If you have chickens, you can poke a design on the pumpkin skin and let the chickens peck out a cool, spooky pattern!

Halloween’s just around the corner!

Looks like you have quite the pumpkin haul!

Great in pies, soups, cakes… and if you have dogs, pumpkin puree can be helpful for their digestion too!

Perfect for making jack-o’-lanterns!

Blockquote

You should definitely eat them!
