Previous owner swore it wasn't jasmine… but I feel like the luckiest guy right now?

So gorgeous! Are you in the southern hemisphere?

How’d you guess? I’m in Southern California, and this looks just like backyards around here.

Guessing they noticed it’s spring here now, so the flowers are out!

@Indy
Good call! I have a big jasmine next to an orange tree myself :blush:

That’s lovely! Mine’s by a lemon tree, but it gives a similar vibe. Feels like home.

Springtime blooms are a sure sign!

Yep, star jasmine! Had it all over my fence. Such a good plant.

@Jael
It’s amazing how these things start so small!

Technically, it’s star jasmine, not true jasmine. They’re in different families, but both are beautiful and smell amazing!

Congrats! My ex had a similar vine in his yard. Once we split, he cut it down, saying it was ruining his fence. I still miss that smell :weary:

That’s such a shame… all that hard work gone!

@Indy
He just couldn’t see its beauty. Bugs and dirt were more his concern. One of many reasons we didn’t work out :sweat_smile:

I’ll never forgive my mom for pulling ours out. Those bushes were responsible for my love of jasmine and watching bees collecting pollen.

Did she have a good reason, or was she just tired of them?

@Indy
I think it was the bees and the ‘mess’ they brought.

Can jasmine grow in zone 7?

Not sure, sorry.

Wow, bet it smells AMAZING!

Such a stunning garden you have… congrats!

My aromatherapy teacher once said jasmine scent could increase fertility. Something about it being a springtime bloom. The scent alone is powerful, but the oils were super pricey!
