Gorgeous!
My parents had a condo in Florida with a huge avocado tree on the property. The avocados were the size of footballs! No exaggeration. They were huge and tasted like butter. So good! I heard they had to cut the tree down years ago. I’ve never had anything close to that quality again. I’m jealous, OP!
@Mal
As big as a football? That’s impressive, OMG!

They were huge! I’ve never seen one that big before or after!
This is amazing! Congrats on the avocados and your grandma.
These are GORGEOUS!!! The fruit is all even in color, they look perfect to eat. The variety I have leaves it ‘grainy’ where the flesh meets the skin. I wish mine were like this.

Location… country?
I’m in Kenya
Interestingly, I grew up around avocado trees. They don’t ripen on the tree.

It depends on the species
I’m so jealous! I’ve planted many avocado trees, but they always got thrips and stuff…
Florida avocado?

Avocados, yes. Florida, no. I’m in Kenya.
These look like they came from a bacon seed. White thin flesh, big seed. Looks great.

@Ashby
My sister would pick it up and say ‘waste not want not.’
Fruit garden? Do you mean… orchard?

Wrong in two ways:
-
Fruit-bearing trees can be part of a larger fruit garden because…
-
Not all fruit grows on trees.

Even if there were only trees, calling it a ‘fruit garden’ isn’t wrong. It’s just an unusual term at worst.

Avocados are berries. Do you call a blueberry patch a blueberry orchard? Tomato orchard???
Berries are a type of fruit, so I’m not sure what that has to do with this.
But OP can call it whatever they want, garden or orchard, it’s all good.
They come from trees, you know. They grow in orchards.
