I noticed something growing alongside my plumeria, and Iām calling it the plumeriaās little āsonā! No idea how it got there, but Iām thrilled to see some new life in the pot. What do you thinkābonus plant or an invader?
Hate to break it to you, but the son is probably adopted.
A son, yes. Related, probably not.

Definitely a brother from another mother.
Honestly, it kinda looks like a weedā¦
Thatās likely a weed. If your plumeria cutting hasnāt been mature enough to produce seeds (and it would have needed a very noticeable seed pod), then this little guy is definitely not its offspring. Itās best to remove it so it doesnāt steal nutrients from your plumeria, which needs all the energy it can get for blooming.
The plumeria isnāt just a stepfatherāitās the father who stepped up.
Thatās definitely an intruder! On the bright side, your plumeria cutting looks great and healthy!
Maybe itās an emotional support weed.
If youāre new to plumeria care, make sure to get some neem oil and keep an eye out for rust fungusāit can creep up fast.
Baby Groot!
Looking forward to seeing what it turns into! Keep us updated!
Where did you get your plumeria cutting?

Funny story! My neighbor grabbed a plumeria cutting from the side of the road in Hawaii while on vacation. After a storm broke one of its branches, he planted the broken piece in a new pot, and it grew. He gave me the cutting as a gift after I showed interest in gardening. Itās doing really well, even through the winter.
@Lennon
Thatās such a thoughtful gift! It seems to love the spot you have it ināsouth-facing window?
Iām imagining someone saying, āThat log had a child!ā
It might be a sucker coming from the root system. Also, I see new leaves on the top leftāyour plumeria is thriving!
