Just had to share.
I agree, marigolds have a wonderful scent too!
And also geraniums as well
I love the smell of tomato leaves! Marigolds, on the other hand, don’t do it for me. If they weren’t so easy to care for and so resilient, I probably wouldn’t bother planting them.
Agreed, it’s definitely an acquired taste, like beer or coffee. I’ve noticed that nightshades often have weird-smelling foliage. Datura’s peanut butter-scented leaves are my new favorite (and yes, I wash my hands ).
Oh, I can’t stand that rancid peanut butter smell from datura seeds! It’s likely due to butyric acid (which is named after rancid cow’s butter) along with some other foul-smelling compounds. It’s one of the grossest smells in the garden for me. Lucky you for liking it!
Try Replica’s ‘From the Garden’ perfume. It smells like warm soil, fresh tomato leaves, and rain.
It’s truly magical how they made this fragrance work so well. The tomato leaf scent is just amazing. I highly recommend it too!
Oh boy do I have the soap for you!
Thanks for this! I have a tomato toner from Burt’s Bees that was discontinued, and I live in fear of running out.
Have this in my kitchen right now!
I was going to respond with candle recs!!!
