I thought it was the sap of the poppy plant, not the seeds, that is used to produce opiates like morphine and heroin
The sap of the poppy plant can be collected to produce drugs.
You can also collect the seeds and, if left unwashed, use them to make tea. This tea acts as a pain reliever but is just as addictive as using the sap, and it’s technically legal in the USA.
When washed, poppy seeds are great for baking and won’t have any intoxicating effects.
Additionally, these seeds can be planted for next year’s flowers.
You can crush poppy seeds and add sugar, butter, and pasta to make a delicious dish. They can also be used in cakes or traditional Christmas foods. For example, you can mix poppy seeds with milk, sugar, maybe some jam, and old bread. Let it soak, then eat.
Remember, the seeds need to be dried and crushed first.
