Yum
Did you grow them from seed? When do you plant them?

I planted these in June. They were nursery seedlings my dad got for me.
Do you just use a knife to cut them off? It looks like some are missing already. Thanks for showing how these grow—it’s wild!

I haven’t cut any yet; this is just how they grew. One of the stalks didn’t form properly because it got crowded out by the others. Such a fascinating plant!
Nice!

How do you keep aphids away? I tried netting this year, but they still destroyed mine. Ended up feeding them all to the chickens.
Aphids were surprisingly scarce for me until late in the season, and they went for my tomatoes instead. I did spray insecticidal soap weekly, though. It seemed to help.
Mine didn’t make it.
They look delicious and beautiful
Isn’t it wild that they start from tiny seeds? You could plant thousands just to mess with sprout haters.

Wait, are the sprouts themselves seeds? How would that work?
Gorgeous! Enjoy them!
What zone are you in, and when did you plant? I followed recommendations, but mine only grew leaves—no sprouts!

I’m in zone 6A and planted these back in June.

Thanks! I’m in 7a/7b. Guess I need to plant earlier next time.

Why did you cut the stalks instead of letting the smaller ones grow more?
It’s a community garden, and they want everything cleared out for tilling. Otherwise, I’d let them grow.

What a weird thing to say without context. Care to elaborate?

I don’t have space in my garden for brussel sprouts.
@Eli
And?
