Besides plants, what kind of gifts do gardeners usually appreciate? Whether it’s something useful or just nice to have, what would make a great gift for someone who loves indoor or outdoor gardening?
What would you personally like to get?

Good question! Honestly, one of my favorite things would be a gift card to a local garden center. You can’t go wrong with letting people pick what they need or want!

Yes! A gift card is always a win. And if I could add something else, maybe a hori hori knife. Super handy.
I got my boyfriend’s grandmother an indoor hydroponic setup since she loves gardening but can’t do much outside in the Michigan winters. Now she can grow herbs and small plants even when it’s freezing.
Heirloom seeds, a cool gardening t-shirt, or a book about plant history would make me happy.
I’d love some good gardening gloves. Waterproof ones for messy work and lighter ones for when it’s hot out. Oh, and plant markers! I always lose track of what I planted where.
Where I live, winter is rough for gardeners. Things like planners, online gardening classes, or even tickets to botanical gardens or plant-related events can really brighten up those long, cold months. Spending time together at a garden center or arboretum would be fun too.
You know those aprons with a big pocket in the front? Perfect for harvesting without ruining my shirt! And yeah, a hori hori knife would be nice too.
Check out crownbees.com for anyone interested in pollinator-friendly gardening. I’ve used their bees in my garden, and it’s been amazing. Leafcutter bees work great for summer gardens!
A Lee Valley hori hori knife is my go-to tool. The older solid blade ones are the best. The newer ones don’t feel as sturdy or safe in my hands.
A left-handed chainsaw. Just kidding, but imagine how cool that would be!
That’s a tricky one. Most of the tools I need, I already own, and decorations tend to go unused. Seeds and plants are pretty personal choices. Gardening books? Unless they match my specific zone, they’re not that helpful. Honestly, I’d be thrilled with a few big bags of peat moss or topsoil!
A kneeler is a great idea. Some can even double as a small seat.
Good gloves are always welcome.
