The red ones are roselle, which is a type of hibiscus used for making a healthy tea, and the white ones are eggplants because I wanted to see why they are called that.
Wow those are some interesting eggplants

They look nice. I didn’t know eggplants could look like that. Are they just young or is it a different kind? And what does a hibiscus plant look like with those flowers?
It’s a different kind of eggplant! That’s as big as they get before they turn yellow. And here’s what a Roselle plant looks like:
@Kiran
This is the hibiscus that people in Jamaica and other islands use to make a sweet tea. I forgot the name of the drink but it’s very popular there.

It’s called Sorrel. They also call it Jamaica in Mexico (pronounced Ha-mai-ka)
@Jin
Yes, Sorrel! That’s it, thanks!
@Jin
Is that the drink?

It’s really good. People say it tastes like cranberries, but I’ve never had cranberries so I just trust them.
@Kiran
I live in Ontario Canada where a lot of the world’s cranberries come from and sweet is not the first word I’d use. They are more tart.
But like my grandma always said, anything can taste sweet with enough sugar added.

That’s an Asian type of eggplant. You can find these in Thai and Vietnamese dishes.
They are less bitter than the usual kinds.
@Arlo
Yeah, the person who gave me the seeds called it the Thai White variety.

Great for stir fries and such.
I love those hibiscus flowers! They’re so sour. You can even make pickles from them
You should set up a little herb stand
Funny I just made roselle tea today for the first time. I got fresh ones from a farm share. I basically did the same thing I would for dried hibiscus flowers and added clove, star anise, and honey.
