Anyone else having a bumper year with their backyard fruit trees?

#1 Peaches from Dwarf Fresno peach tree ripened later than usual this year.

#2 Moorpark Apricot ripened earlier than usual.

#3 Goldmine nectarine is on time, about three weeks away.

#4 Dwarf Satsuma plum tree still has about 4-6 weeks to go.

#5 Dwarf Red Delicious looks on time too, around 9-10 weeks before they’re ripe. These are huge, crunchy, sweet, and so much better than store-bought ones that are often mushy from cold storage. Best apples ever, in my opinion!

Still waiting for some like Washington navel orange, Emperor mandarin, Finger lime, Lemonade, and more. Also growing some tomato and apple cucumber patches and hoping to find space for a Golden Delicious tree soon.

I’ll be busy eating, drying, and preserving all this fresh fruit!

No matter how many times I see these kinds of posts, they never fail to amaze me.

Thanks so much!

I’ve always wondered… are fresh Red Delicious apples actually delicious? And what’s your plan for all this fruit? This is incredible!

I’m curious about that too. Tell us more!

Fresh ones are a whole other level. They’re crunchy, sweet, and nothing like the store ones. I’ll be preserving and drying a lot of the fruit, and of course, eating plenty fresh.

Do you have a favorite from your harvest so far?

Thanks! It’s a close tie between the apricots and the Red Delicious apples.

That’s awesome! I bought a house with a crazy peach tree last July. I pruned it and will be grafting new varieties soon. Hoping for a harvest like yours one day.

That sounds exciting! Are you planning to graft everything onto the peach tree?

Wish I had access to those peaches! It’s winter here, and fresh fruit is scarce.

Your turn for ripe peaches will come soon! I envy snowy winters sometimes, even if it means dealing with cold.

This is the dream. I could eat 20 peaches a week if I had them!

Haha, your Peachening story sounds epic! I might try a peach milkshake this year. Heard they’re amazing.

This looks amazing! What’s your growing zone?

Thanks! I live in a semi-arid desert city with a Mediterranean climate—hot summers, mild winters. We don’t use growing zones here, but I hope this helps!

Can I come live in your backyard?
