Anyone else have plants they can't leave behind

Maybe find someone online who’s really into plants? They might love taking care of them. I wonder about my bonsai trees too.

I have peonies I’ve babied forever, but we’re downsizing and IDK what to do with them. Same for my hellebores and echinacea.

Wait, why do buyers expect to keep your potted plants? That feels off to me. So sorry you’re dealing with this.

They’re big feature plants, and we’re moving to a zone they won’t survive in. Plus, movers don’t take plants. Bringing my orchids tho!

@Avery
Makes sense. Maybe leave a letter about the garden for the buyers? It’d be a nice touch.

That’s a great idea. Also leaving the contact for a local teen who waters our garden. He’s been amazing!

@Avery
Have you checked out state-specific gardening books? Could help you get started in the new zone.

Thanks! I’m staying in FL but moving north, so it’s a totally new zone. County extension office is on speed dial lol.

@Avery
Good luck! Leaving plants is hard, but starting fresh could be exciting too!

Moving is tough. I have 250 potted plants I’d struggle to leave. Plants feel like friends after all the care!

Totally! I’m from the UK originally. Moving zones here is wild—tropical gardening is hardcore. Azaleas may be my next thing.

@Avery
Wishing you luck! Here in SoCal it’s all succulents and cactus. Hope your new garden is an amazing adventure.

Gorgeous!

Generational plants are so special. Such a great connection to the past.

Our aloe has been passed through 4 generations. We’re even giving cuttings to friends now. It’s thriving!

She’d be so happy her cactus is still thriving. Love this!

My husband’s grandmother has a 150-year-old Christmas cactus from her great-grandma. Crazy how plants connect generations.
